Sugar, Wheat Flour (Gluten), Cocoa (7.2%), Raising Agents (500, 450), Salt

Allergens Advice: Wheat, Gluten

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:
2 eggs
½ cup oil
1 cup milk
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla essence

EQUIPMENT YOU NEED:
Mixing bowl
Spoon
25cm round cake tin
Baking paper

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 160c conventional / 140c fan bake. Grease a 25cm cake round cake tin and line the base with baking paper. Add contents of pouch into a large bowl and mix.  Add eggs, oil, milk and vanilla essence and mix to combine. Carefully add the boiling water to the mixture and mix to combine. Mixture will be very runny. Pour into lined cake tin. Bake for 45 minutes.  Cake is baked when a toothpick inserted into middle of cake comes out clean.

Check with skewer or toothpick before removing.
Don’t overmix batter.
Check whether cooked by inserting a skewer or toothpick into the centre of your cake. If it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, it’s ready. If there is wet batter, bake for a few more minutes and check again.
Cool before icing.

Everyone raved about this cake. The texture was fine and it was lovely and moist. I did make a small change by adding espresso coffee instead of water, as I think it. enhances the chocolate flavour. I then made it as a slab cake. It was so popular I have just ordered two more.!
