Wheat Flour (Gluten), Sugar, Raising Agent (Baking Soda), Mixed Spice, Cinnamon, Salt

 Made in a kitchen that processes: Milk, Soy, Peanut, Egg, Tree Nuts

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:
125g butter
1 egg
250g apples peeled & diced in approx. 1cm cubes (2 apples)

EQUIPMENT YOU NEED:
Mixing bowl
Mixing spoon
22cm round cake tin
Baking paper

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 160c conventional / 140c fan bake. Grease a 22cm round cake tin and line the base with baking paper. Melt butter in a bowl.  Add the sugar from cellophane bag, egg and apple and mix until combined. Add the contents of pouch and mix gently until combined.  Place mixture in lined tin. Bake for 35 minutes. Cake is baked when a skewer inserted into middle of cake comes out clean.

Use fresh apples for best texture.
Check early  ovens vary.
Check whether cooked by inserting a skewer or toothpick into the centre of your cake. If it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, it’s ready. If there is wet batter, bake for a few more minutes and check again.

Cosy baking at its best  simple, satisfying and hard to resist.
Add a scoop of ice cream for a fabulous dessert.

I cooked the cake at 150C for 35 minutes - as per the instructions. Even after another 10 minutes at that temperature, the cake was still liquid. I turned the heat to 180C and cooked it for another 20 minutes before it was done. The flavour and texture are lovely, but I think your instructions need editing.
